Vertex leaders, teachers, staff members, and students were honored to host Representative Burgess Owens as he visited our school to learn more about our model of equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to choose their own pathways to power. Rep. Owens participated in a tour, visited classrooms, and even spoke to students about the importance of being lifelong learners and readers. The Congressman was particularly impressed with our Mandarin class where students were working on their conversational skills.

We are grateful that Rep. Owens stopped by Vertex Partnership Academies. His story and experiences as a successful athlete, Superbowl champion, and now lawmaker were inspiring to our students.

Some students even had the opportunity to try on the Superbowl ring!
