The cardinal virtue of Temperance inspires my desires to be a student-athlete because I am constantly being reminded that I am responsible for my learning and behavior. If my actions lead to me missing a game or practice, that is my fault and I have to take accountability. Temperance pushes me to be better at managing my actions and helping others manage theirs as well.

The cardinal virtue that stands out to me the most is courage because without taking risks and working hard to achieve my goals, I wouldn't be where I am today. Courage guides my actions on and off the field--whether striving to get better grades or to give my all on the field. I want to be someone others look up to as a teammate and a leader.
